12 extravagant en-suites

It doesn’t matter whether your ensuite is the size of some people’s bedrooms, or if it’s only a couple of metres square. It’s a luxury feature which definitely deserves a little wow-factor. Here’s a little gallery of some of our favourites to give you some inspiration of what you could do if you’re renovating or installing an en-suite bathroom in your home.

Well, we thought we might as well start with the most decadent en-suite of all, but if you have the space why not go the full hog? This glorious oval-shaped tub is the perfect place to while away the hours.
This large en-suite could comfortably also fit a separate shower unit. However the owners have decided rather to celebrate the space and just opted for a beautiful modern bathtub instead. Do remember however if you're intending to sell, that buyers will be more attracted to properties that offer a shower.
Some find bathrooms decorated entirely with dark colours a little overwhelming. However, here the designers have achieved a striking dark aesthetic from the black tiles, without it being overbearing by tying it all together with a white feature wall.

Everyone know's the old trick putting a mirror in the hall to make the space seem larger, but this trick works for any room. Here the large mirror behind the bath makes this space seem about twice the size.
This minimalist, London flat's en-suite has a beautiful trough-style basin that runs the length of the room. Although a standard bathroom facility on the continent in places such as Italy, bidets are only just just beginning to garner popularity in the UK.
As most en-suites are shared spaces between couples so called 'His and Her' basins are a great idea, meaning you won't have to wait to brush your teeth before work each morning.

This tiny bathroom still contains all of the amenities you could ask for, without feeling cramped. The space still comes across as overwhelmingly luxurious thanks to that gorgeous marble tiling.
In a room such as this, with that wonderful textured wall. There is little need for any additional adornment, which could detract from the space's natural beauty. Remember sometimes simplicity is key.
Remember, just because you're updating or installing an en-suite that doesn't mean you need to go for super modern! Here a traditional clawfoot tub has been tied with that strait-to-business basin and Victorian mirror to create a timless space.

Once again, a bathroom that would have been considered nice, if a little bog-standard, has been transformed into the height of opulence by the owner's splashing out on that gorgeous yellow marble, that is certain to produce a sunny ambiance year-round.
Not only are wet rooms sleek and stylish, they're easy to clean and great for users with restricted mobility. On top of all this, they're a more space saving option than a standard fitted shower, which makes them a wonderful solution for smaller en-suites.
This long, but thin bathroom proves that you can create a beautiful en-suite out of even the most awkward of spaces. It's sometimes even possible to install a basin, toilet and shower in areas as small as 0.8m x 1.8m.
