As you may or may not know, Pantone, the folks who set the colour standards for the design industries, have announced their ‘Colour of the Year 2017’ and they’ve gone for a rather lovely shade of green called ‘Greenery’ or to give it its more catchy title ‘PANTONE 15-0343’
Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute stated on the subject “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalise and unite, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose”
And while we’re not entirely convinced that a simple lick of paint in the living room can do all that, at Opun we do love using touches of green to breath some life into the home.
For interiors Pantone state that “Adding Greenery through living walls, terrariums, botanically-themed wallpaper, paint, accent furniture and decor provides respite and breathing space. A Greenery-painted wall or piece of furniture delivers a pop of colour, with the added benefit of creating the illusion of nature indoors.”
With this in mind, we think it’s a great time to add some green to your own home’s interiors. But, don’t feel you have to limit yourself to just one shade of green. We’ve put together a gallery of green interiors to inspire you, and well…leave you feeling green with envy.
